PvZ Heroes crafting guide 2026: quick answer
If you are not completing a specific deck, Cheese Cutter is the best all-purpose first craft in this guide: it costs 1,000 sparks per copy, appears in 64.29% of eligible 2026 Beastly decks, rises to 81.82% in the recent window, and works across every Beastly hero. For Plants, Forget-Me-Nuts is the broadest data-backed staple, while Sun Shroom is the standout Solar craft.
The most important rule is that the best craft is usually the card that finishes a strong deck you actually want to play. A universal ranking is most useful when you have sparks but no exact deck target. For developing collections, four strong 1,000-spark Super-Rares or Event cards will usually improve your deck more than a single 4,000-spark Legendary copy.
This guide is based on 180 unique 2026 decks, 1,705 unique all-time decks, and a 79-deck recent window running from May 19 through August 17, 2026. Usage is measured only among heroes that can legally use each card's class, and “elite” means the top 25% of decks within each hero by PvZH Vault score.
What should I craft first in PvZ Heroes?
If a missing card directly completes a competitive deck you already own most of, that is usually a better use of sparks than crafting a universally “good” card with no home.
They are expensive enough to be hard to pull naturally, but cheap enough that 4,000 sparks buys a full playset instead of one Legendary copy.
Normal 1,000-spark Events eventually appear in the repeating Event rotation, so patient players can wait. The special 2,000-spark Events do not appear in that normal weekly rotation.
Teleport, Brainana and other top Legendaries are excellent, but 4,000 sparks for one copy is usually a worse early upgrade than four high-impact 1,000-spark cards.
20 best cards to craft in PvZ Heroes in 2026
This ranking is for immediate deck improvement, not fastest possible collection completion. It rewards cards that are strong now, useful across multiple heroes, common in elite decks and reasonable for their spark cost. Weekly Event cards remain high if they are enormous upgrades, but long-term F2P players should also read the next section.

Top 10 craft priorities explained

Cheese Cutter
The strongest all-purpose 1,000-spark Zombie craft: broad Beastly usage, excellent recent adoption, and no need to wait for the weekly Event rotation.

Going Viral
A defining Hearty finisher that appears across every Hearty hero and is extremely concentrated in elite lists. If you play Hearty now, it upgrades many decks at once.

Forget-Me-Nuts
The clearest Guardian staple in the 2026 data. It is cheap enough to deploy early, fits all Guardian heroes, and current community advice still treats it as a must-have.

Clique Peas
One of the most universal Mega-Grow upgrades: very high 2026 usage, excellent recent usage, and strong performance in elite decks.

Sun Shroom
The standout Solar early-game craft. It shows a major positive deck-score association and remains one of the most recommended Plant crafts in current community discussions.

Area 22
A premium Beastly Super-Rare with elite usage far above ordinary usage. It is flexible enough to function as tempo, reach, and a combat enabler.

Fig
The best 2,000-spark non-weekly Event craft in this dataset. Its elite usage is enormous and, unlike normal weekly Events, waiting for the Event rotation does not solve the acquisition problem.

Black Hole
A highly reusable Hearty Super-Rare that shows up across the whole class and remains strong in the recent window.

Ketchup Mechanic
A flexible Solar Event card with strong recent usage and one of the largest positive within-hero score associations among broadly played cards.

Quickdraw Con Man
A versatile Crazy Super-Rare whose elite and recent usage are both substantially higher than its already-strong baseline.
Best long-term F2P crafts
If your goal is to maximize collection value over time, the answer changes slightly. Normal 1,000-spark Event cards can eventually be earned through the weekly Event cycle, so Super-Rares and non-weekly 2,000-spark Event cards become more attractive. This is why Cheese Cutter, Area 22 and Black Hole jump ahead of otherwise amazing weekly Event staples.

PvZ Heroes spark costs, recycle values and Event-card rules
Standard crafting costs
| Rarity | Craft | Recycle |
|---|---|---|
| Common | 25 | 0 |
| Uncommon | 50 | 15 |
| Rare | 250 | 50 |
| Super-Rare | 1,000 | 250 |
| Normal Event | 1,000 | 250 |
| Legendary | 4,000 | 1,000 |
| Non-weekly Event | 2,000 | 500 |
The 2,000-spark Event exception
Eleven Event cards use the 2,000/500 spark economy and are not part of the normal weekly Event rotation. That makes them strategically different from a normal 1,000-spark Event: waiting for weekly tickets will not eventually guarantee them.
The raw export contains current crafting/recycle rules and the 11-card non-weekly list.

Best Legendary cards to craft in PvZ Heroes
Legendaries are powerful but inefficient early crafts: one copy costs the same as four Super-Rares. Craft them when the rest of the deck is already functional, or when the Legendary itself is the engine or finisher you specifically need.

Best cards to recycle for sparks
Full-refund cards are the safest cards to recycle from an economic standpoint because their recycle value equals their craft cost: you can convert them to sparks now and recraft them later without losing sparks. That does not mean every full-refund card is bad. Fireweed and Valkyrie, for example, still appear in competitive deck data.
Low-use full-refund cards
These are the cleanest recycle candidates if you do not actively use them, because they combine full spark refund with low 2026 representation.

Never mass-recycle cards solely because they have low database usage. Your collection, favorite heroes and target deck matter more than a global stat.
How this PvZ Heroes crafting guide is ranked
A card is compared only against decks whose hero can legally use that class, avoiding nonsense comparisons against impossible decks.
Elite means the top 25% of decks within each hero, so a card is not rewarded simply because it belongs to a stronger hero or class.
The latest 90-day window checks whether a card is rising, stable or disappearing from current lists.
Top-deck averages and within-hero score association help distinguish cards used in strong lists from cards that are merely common.
250, 1,000, 2,000 and 4,000-spark cards are not equal investments. A full playset matters more than one isolated copy.
Current crafting discussions are used as a qualitative cross-check for replaceability, beginner usefulness and real player priorities.
The underlying export contains 503 cards, 1948 raw decks, 180 unique 2026 decks, 1,705 unique all-time decks, and 79 recent decks.
This is still observational data. A card appearing in better decks does not prove that the card itself caused those decks to score better, and PvZH Vault uploads are not a random sample of every match played. The export explicitly warns against treating association as causation.

PvZ Heroes crafting and sparks FAQ
What is the best card to craft first in PvZ Heroes?
If you are not completing a specific deck, Cheese Cutter is the best all-purpose first 1,000-spark craft in this guide because it is a versatile Beastly Super-Rare with strong 2026, recent and elite-deck usage. If you already know which deck you want to build, finishing that deck's missing core cards is usually better than following a universal ranking.
What is the best Plant card to craft in PvZ Heroes?
Forget-Me-Nuts is the best broad Plant craft in PvZH Vault's 2026 data because it appears across all Guardian heroes at very high rates. Sun-Shroom is the strongest alternative for Solar players, while Fig is the highest-priority non-weekly 2,000-spark Event craft.
What is the best Zombie card to craft in PvZ Heroes?
Cheese Cutter is the best broad Zombie craft in this guide. Going Viral is the top Hearty Event craft, Area 22 is another elite Beastly option, and Teleport is the best late-game Legendary investment for Brainy players.
Should I craft Legendaries or four Super-Rares in PvZ Heroes?
For most developing collections, four strong 1,000-spark Super-Rares or Event cards improve a deck more than one 4,000-spark Legendary copy. Legendaries become better crafts once your core deck shell is already complete.
Should I craft 1,000-spark Event cards?
Normal 1,000-spark Event cards can eventually appear in the repeating weekly Event rotation, so patient free-to-play players may prefer to wait. Craft them when you need the card now to finish a deck. The special 2,000-spark Event cards are not in the normal weekly rotation, which makes them a different decision.
What are the best 2,000-spark Event cards to craft?
Fig is the strongest 2,000-spark Event craft in the current PvZH Vault data. Teacher is another important non-weekly Event card for Hearty trick-focused decks.
What is the best Legendary card to craft in PvZ Heroes?
Teleport is the best Legendary craft in this guide. It has extremely high 2026 and elite usage, is useful across Brainy heroes, and strongly correlates with higher-scoring decks. Brainana is the top Plant Legendary craft.
What cards should I recycle for sparks in PvZ Heroes?
The safest cards to recycle are cards that currently return their full crafting value, because you can recraft them later without losing sparks. However, full refund does not mean the card is weak: Fireweed and Valkyrie, for example, still appear in competitive decks. Always check whether a card is part of a deck you actually use.
How is this crafting guide ranked?
PvZH Vault combines 2026 eligible-deck usage, elite-deck usage, recent usage, top-deck quality, hero coverage, spark cost and acquisition constraints. The final order is then sanity-checked against current community crafting advice. Deck association is evidence, not proof that one card causes a deck to win.
