What is the best Rustbolt deck?
HaramBolt is the highest-rated Rustbolt deck in this October 2026 export. Sustainedx’s Teacher–Trickster build scores 95.83/100 and contains 22 tricks. For a budget collection, start with Flag: its full-list estimate is 4,650 sparks, with no Legendaries or Event cards.
These are PvZH Vault model scores, not win percentages. The main ranking uses recipes with a recorded 2026 appearance; older lists are labeled separately.

Top 10 Rustbolt deck recipes with a recorded 2026 appearance
Choose the strategy that fits your collection. Each list keeps its original creator credit and source; the piloting notes explain the interactions in its cards.
HaramBolt is the highest-scoring Rustbolt recipe in both the 2026 sample and the full 109-deck archive. It runs 22 tricks, four Teachers, four Paparazzi Zombies and four Tricksters. Teacher discounts the tricks, Paparazzi grows as you play them, and a Trickster held in hand gets cheaper with every trick. Four Teleports and three Teleportation Zombies give the deck seven cards that enable zombies to arrive during the trick phase.
Opening hand
Look for Teacher, Paparazzi Zombie and cheap interaction. Keep one Trickster when the rest of your hand can start playing tricks; send back redundant Tricksters or an opening hand with no early play.
Game plan
Use the cheap tricks to protect your engine and reduce Trickster’s cost. Teleporting Trickster after the Plant player has committed their sun creates a bonus-attack threat without revealing it in the zombie phase.
Treat or Tricksterazzi shares the Teacher, Paparazzi, Teleport and Trickster core with HaramBolt, but uses four Trick-or-Treaters and two Mad Chemists instead of Teleportation Zombie. Trick-or-Treater conjures a Treat after your first trick each turn, while Mad Chemist adds a random trick. Those triggers help the list keep finding fuel for its 22-trick game plan.
Opening hand
Prioritize Teacher or Paparazzi with an inexpensive trick. Keep Trick-or-Treater when you already have a turn-one play; avoid a hand filled with generators and no way to contest the first turns.
Game plan
Try to get value from your first-trick triggers across several turns. Do not spend all your tricks only to grow Paparazzi if that leaves no removal for the Plant board.
BoSS is the highest-scoring 2026 Rustbolt list here without Trickster. It runs 28 units, ten tricks and two Black Holes. Flag Zombie reduces the cost of your zombies; Stompadon buffs zombies in your hand whenever you draw. Cell Phone Zombie and Teleport supply draw triggers, while Going Viral turns a developed board into a Frenzy threat.
Opening hand
Look for Middle Manager, Planetary Gladiator or another early play alongside Flag Zombie. A Stompadon is more useful with an opener that can develop a board and keep cards flowing.
Game plan
Use the cheaper zombies to establish lanes, then build hand value with Stompadon. Zom-Blob provides a separate evolution threat, so the deck is not relying on a single oversized unit to finish.
BlobKing pairs a low-cost board with four Zombie Kings, three Zom-Blobs and four Evolutionary Leaps. Zombie King turns another random zombie into a 5/5 Armored Knight at the end of the turn. Interdimensional Zombie and cheap bodies give you transformation targets; Brain Vendor and the teleport cards support flexible plays during the trick phase.
Opening hand
Favor Interdimensional Zombie, Rolling Stone and a playable early body. Save Zombie King for hands that already have something for him to transform.
Game plan
Keep a body beside Zombie King so his end-of-turn effect has a target. Choose evolution targets carefully: transforming a utility zombie changes the abilities you had available.
K.L.S. combines Mustache Waxer with Gentleman Zombie and Zombie King, then adds Evolutionary Leap and Transformation Station. Waxer rewards playing Mustaches with extra brains and health. This is a transformation-oriented list rather than a straightforward Trickster finisher, with 22 units, 16 tricks and two environments.
Opening hand
Look for Mustache Waxer or Interdimensional Zombie with a compatible follow-up. Do not keep multiple transformation cards without an early unit to use them on.
Game plan
Use your Mustache cards to get value from Waxer, and plan which zombies you want to keep versus transform. Zombie King can convert a modest body into an Armored Knight without paying for a large unit directly.
TCC Telepsterrazzi contains 25 tricks, the most among the 12 unique 2026 Rustbolt recipes in this export. Four Teachers support the low-cost trick sequence, while Thinking Cap conjures two superpowers and Leprechaun Imp adds Pots of Gold to the deck. It still finishes through Trickster, but its card generation is different from the two leading lists.
Opening hand
Look for Teacher, Leprechaun Imp or Paparazzi with a cheap trick. Thinking Cap is a value card, so exchange it when your opener needs an immediate play.
Game plan
Preserve enough brains to respond to the Plant board. Generated superpowers and shuffled draw cards add flexibility, but their availability is not guaranteed, so build around the cards actually in your hand.
Control and Win carries both four Tricksters and four Mechasaurs. Cryo-Brain ramps your resources, while Rolling Stone and Rocket Science answer plants at opposite ends of the attack range. Parasol Zombie gives itself and neighboring zombies Untrickable, helping protect a board that has reached its expensive finishers.
Opening hand
Keep cheap removal and Beam Me Up. Keep Cryo-Brain only when your remaining cards can handle early pressure; exchange hands overloaded with Mechasaur and Trickster.
Game plan
Use removal to buy time for the larger threats. Place important zombies next to Parasol when its protection matters, and remember that Untrickable does not stop damage from combat.
Sun Bandits uses four Ra Zombies and three Turquoise Skull Zombies to interfere with the Plant player’s sun. Cryo-Brain accelerates your own resources; Mechasaur and Undying Pharaoh provide the late-game plan. Unlike the leading Trickster lists, this recipe has no Trickster and no Going Viral.
Opening hand
Favor Rolling Stone, Planetary Gladiator or another way to survive the early turns. Exchange expensive endgame cards when you have no early defense.
Game plan
Use the sun-disruption bodies to limit a turn’s options while you reach your finishers. Pharaoh’s health protection depends on keeping Pharaoh alive, so do not treat it as permanent safety.

#9: Mustache bodies with boardwide buffs
Coffee Crusher
79.05Vault score / 100
Grade B66,050 estimated sparks26 units / 14 tricks / 0 environmentsBy King Fish CommanderRecorded
Coffee Crusher is a 26-unit Mustache build. Mustache Waxer works with Gentleman Zombie, Duckstache and other Mustaches, while four Going Virals and two Coffee Zombies provide boardwide buffs and Frenzy. Viking adds a separate large threat instead of relying on discounted Tricksters.
Opening hand
Look for Mustache Waxer with a cheap follow-up and Rolling Stone. Return Coffee Zombie or Viking when your opening hand needs a unit you can play earlier.
Game plan
Develop more than one relevant lane before using a boardwide buff. Teleport effects let you change your timing, but the strength of Going Viral still depends on the board it is buffing.
Turquoise Parasol Ramp is the newest Rustbolt recipe in this export, recorded on September 30, 2026. It uses Cryo-Brain to reach Turquoise Skull Zombie, Parasol Zombie, Coffee Zombie and Mechasaur. At 35,600 estimated sparks it costs less to craft than the other nine main picks, but it is not a sub-20,000-spark budget list.
Opening hand
Look for Beam Me Up, Rolling Stone or Black Hole with an early answer. Keep Cryo-Brain with a hand that can survive the turn you spend ramping.
Game plan
Combine Parasol’s adjacent protection with the bodies you want to keep on the board. Coffee Zombie rewards a developed board; it is less valuable when you have lost your other lanes.

Best budget Rustbolt decks
Only two unique recipes in the exported Rustbolt archive come in below 20,000 estimated sparks, and both are below 10,000. Flag has a 2026 appearance; Science Budget is an older, higher-scoring archive option.
Budget pick: Best budget pick with a 2026 appearance
Flag is the only unique 2026 Rustbolt recipe in this export below 20,000 estimated sparks. It contains no Legendary or Event cards. Flag Zombie makes your other zombies cheaper, while Brain Vendor refunds brains when played. Leftovers, Lost Colosseum and Primeval Yeti turn the resulting board into a larger threat.
Opening hand
Look for Arm Wrestler or Middle Manager alongside Flag Zombie and a follow-up. Avoid keeping several buffs with no units to buff.
Game plan
Develop units before spending Leftovers. Use Brain Vendor with a plan for the brains it provides that turn, and choose carefully when to evolve a unit into Zom-Blob or Primeval Yeti.
Science Budget scores higher than Flag in the current export, but its recorded appearance is from July 2018, so it is shown as an archive option rather than a newly recorded 2026 build. Zombot Drone Engineer strengthens Science zombies after they deal damage; Gadget Scientist gives Science zombies bonus attacks. The list contains no Legendaries and uses Going Viral as its Event-card investment.
Opening hand
Look for Paparazzi Zombie or an early Science unit with Rolling Stone or Beam Me Up. Keep Gadget Scientist for hands that can first establish Science zombies.
Game plan
Keep Science bodies on the board so Gadget Scientist has units to activate. Beam Me Up supplies a Science body during tricks; Hail-A-Copter gives the list a larger late-game body.

Which Rustbolt Trickster deck should you choose?
Choose HaramBolt for the highest model score and more teleport access. Choose Treat or Tricksterazzi if you prefer the repeatable trick generation from Mad Chemist and a full set of Trick-or-Treaters. Both are 18-unit, 22-trick decks with four Teachers, four Teleports and four Tricksters.

A Trickster’s printed cost is 10, but it becomes cheaper while held in hand as you play tricks. That is why a simple average of printed card costs does not describe how a Trickster deck spends its brains in practice.
How to play Rustbolt: mulligans and timing
Build an opening hand that can act
In Teacher–Trickster decks, look for Teacher or Paparazzi Zombie with cheap tricks. In Flag and BoSS, look for an early unit and a follow-up that benefits from Flag Zombie. A hand of late-game finishers is much harder to use than one that already has a turn-one or turn-two play.
Keep one Trickster when you can start discounting it
Trickster only discounts while it is in your hand. Keeping one alongside an early engine and cheap tricks can be useful; keeping multiple copies with no opening play is a different proposition. Do not throw away your only early interaction just to hold a finisher.
Protect the engine, then threaten damage
Teacher reduces the cost of zombie tricks. Paparazzi grows whenever you play a trick. Those two cards benefit from the same sequence, but spending a removal card only for a buff can leave you unable to answer the next plant. Decide whether the trick needs to contest a lane, protect an engine or set up your closing turn.
Use teleport access to change when you commit
Teleport and Teleportation Zombie let you play zombies during the trick phase. That timing lets you see the Plant player’s turn before choosing your threat. When setting up a teleported Trickster, count the brains for both the teleport effect and the discounted Trickster before spending your other resources.
Watch the gap between your removal spells
Rolling Stone answers plants with 2 attack or less; Rocket Science answers plants with 4 attack or more. Neither one directly answers a 3-attack plant. Your board, buffs and other interactions need to handle that gap. This matters when choosing what to keep and which lane to contest.
Rustbolt crafting priorities and card substitutions
Choose a target list before crafting an expensive playset. The cheapest deck here is not a weakened version of HaramBolt: Flag follows a different plan and uses no Legendaries. If you cannot afford Trickster and teleport cards, the complete budget recipe gives you a more coherent starting point than replacing every premium card independently.
A practical upgrade from Flag
Flag runs four Leftovers. Replacing those four copies with four Going Virals keeps the deck at 40 cards and adds Frenzy and card draw to the board buff. The upgrade raises the printed trick cost from 1 to 3, so keep that curve change in mind. This is a suggested adaptation, not the scored original Flag recipe.
What can replace Teleportation Zombie?
Beam Me Up can supply a body during the trick phase, but it does not let you play Trickster or another zombie from hand. It fills a different role. In HaramBolt, moving from two Beam Me Ups to four is possible, but replacing teleport access still changes the deck’s plan; compare with the listed Treat or Tricksterazzi build before making that trade.
What can replace Trickster?
Hail-A-Copter creates a large unit during tricks and appears in Science Budget, but it does not have Trickster’s discount or immediate bonus attack. For a collection without Trickster, start with the full Science Budget or Flag list rather than assuming a substitute preserves the same combo.
This is where the Vault archive adds context beyond a single decklist. In the 12 unique 2026 Rustbolt recipes, Rolling Stone appears in every list, Teleport in nine, and Going Viral and Rocket Science in eight each. These are recipe counts, not four-copy counts.

All-time top 10: current model scores, original recorded dates
What is the best Rustbolt deck in PvZ Heroes in 2026?
HaramBolt by Sustainedx is the highest-scoring Rustbolt deck in this export at 95.83/100, with an S grade. It was recorded on September 20, 2026 and uses Teacher, Paparazzi Zombie, Teleport and Trickster. This is a Vault-model ranking, not a measured tournament or ladder win rate.
What is the best budget Rustbolt deck?
Flag by Programmernerd is the budget recommendation with a 2026 appearance. Its full-list crafting estimate is 4,650 sparks and it uses no Legendary or Event cards. Science Budget has a higher current model score and costs 9,275 estimated sparks, but its recorded list is from 2018.
Can Rustbolt play a deck without Legendaries?
Yes. Both budget decklists on this page contain no Legendary cards. Flag also contains no Event cards; Science Budget includes four Going Virals. Your actual crafting spend depends on the copies you already own.
What is the best Rustbolt Trickster deck?
HaramBolt is the highest-scoring Trickster list in the current-year sample and all-time Rustbolt archive. Treat or Tricksterazzi is the second-ranked 2026 option. Both contain four Tricksters, four Teachers and 22 tricks.
Should I keep Trickster in my opening hand?
Keeping one Trickster can make sense if the rest of your hand already has an early play and cheap tricks: its cost falls only while it is in your hand. Avoid keeping several Tricksters with no cards that let you contest the opening turns.
Is Rustbolt a good hero for beginners?
Rustbolt has a clear budget entry point in Flag: develop a board and use buffs to pressure multiple lanes. Teacher and Trickster builds require more attention to timing, resource management and protecting important units, so the cheapest list is also a useful starting point.
Are old Rustbolt decks still included?
The main top-ten list only includes recipes with a recorded 2026 appearance. An older Science Budget list is labeled as an archive option, and the all-time comparison includes older recipes. Current model scores and card costs are used; older videos may show different balance values.
How many Rustbolt decks were compared?
The supplied October 13, 2026 export contains 109 unique Rustbolt recipes, including 12 with a 2026 appearance and two recorded between July 15 and October 13. Identical card-and-copy lists count once, with their separate source appearances retained.
How these Rustbolt decks were ranked
The guide uses the PvZH Vault export generated on . Its source archive contained 2,027 recorded decks. Normalized card identities and copy counts reduced the Rustbolt subset to 109 unique recipes; 12 had a recorded 2026 appearance. A Rustbolt recipe is identified by the Brainy + Hearty class pair. All displayed lists contain exactly 40 cards with no more than four copies of a card.
The main ranking sorts the current-year recipes by the existing Vault verdict engine’s composite score. The model reports synergy, power, consistency and other components; it is not a collection of match results. Identical recipes are counted once even when they have several recorded source appearances. The displayed creator and date follow the latest appearance in the supplied export.
Crafting estimates use the exported card costs, including 2,000-spark paid Event exceptions and 25-spark Common cards. They cover the full 40-card list rather than the cards missing from a particular collection. The export’s separate verdict-engine cost estimate is not used for the displayed spark totals. Card abilities and printed resource costs come from the same export’s current card metadata. Piloting and substitution notes are editorial interpretations of those interactions.
